Stop Fighting for Your Limitations

Can I tell you what one of my biggest pet peeves is? It’s when someone tells me, “Oh my gosh, I could never do that.”

Of course, you could!

Everyone has said that phrase to themselves or out loud at some point in their life, including myself. We have all been taught and conditioned to believe that we can’t achieve great things and I am so sick and tired of it!

When we say, “I could never do that” we are fighting for our limitations. It’s time to put a stop to this.

Stop fighting for your limitations and start fighting for your potential.

Whatever you put your mind to, that’s what you’re going to get. Think about that.

Have you been filling your mind with thoughts of, “I could never”, or have you been focusing on what is possible for you?

Now look, I get it. Some things seem beyond our reach but that’s because we’ve been conditioned to think about our limited self. When we think about our future potential our mind naturally gravitates toward what has been done in the past. But does that make sense?

Are you going to allow yourself to reach for only the things that you’ve been able to accomplish in the past?

Thinking along those terms is a very practical and pragmatic way but guess what, the past is finite. It’s been done and nothing can ever change that. The future is infinite with an infinite number of possibilities.

Do you want to gauge your potential based on who you were and what you did in the past?

Do you want to obsess over what you failed at and only be happy with what success you have reached?

OR, do you want to look at the potential of who you can be and what you can do based on the infinite possibilities of what has yet to come?

When you look at the superstars of this world and you think, “I could never do that, I could never be like them”, you are selling yourself short.

The people who achieved great things in this world did so because they were looking forward. They were able to let go of that idea that they could never do that.

Instead of saying you could never…. Ask yourself:

  • Why not?

  • Why can’t I?

  • How can I do that?

  • When can I do that?

  • Where can I do that?

I want to invite you to come along on a journey with me. A journey where you can start to set your mind free and recognize all the limitations that you’ve been putting on yourself. You no longer need to accept that way of thinking as reality because it’s not.

Pulling the wool from your eyes and retraining your mind on how to think takes a lot of work. But don’t doubt for one second that you can do it. It will take some time to recondition and unlearn what society has taught us, but it can be done.

The world is your oyster and the possibilities of what you can achieve are endless.

You’ve just got to allow yourself to want it. Give yourself permission to seek it. Know that you are worthy of having all that you desire and more.

I want you to think about what those secret goals are that you have for yourself. The ones that could even be secret to you. The thoughts that come from the pit of your belly, from the depths of your soul. The things that you truly want but are afraid to say out loud because it’s too big and too scary.

Your mind might try to convince you that you aren’t good enough, smart enough, or important enough to accomplish those things but that’s a lie.

If you have a dream or an idea that is buried deep within, something that is implanted in your soul it’s there because you were meant to do and be and have those things. You deserve it. You are worthy of it.

There are things that you are uniquely called to do and bring into this world. You might be scared or doubtful that you could accomplish something so great, but this world needs you to let go of that way of thinking and bring forth what you were destined to do.

The next time you try and cut yourself short from accessing the depths of your potential, from seeing what is possible in your life, in your career and in your family, remember that you are not just limiting yourself on who and what you can be and have but you are also cutting yourself short on the value you bring into this world, you’re calling.

You are cutting yourself short of the souls who are waiting to be served by you.

Yes, you will encounter challenges and strife but it’s those challenges and strife that enable you to grow and to reach the next level in life.

We often let negative things from our past keep us from believing in our future. Instead, we can use those negative things as a learning opportunity that can catapult us further.

Don’t let your story be defined by what has happened in the past. That is only half the story. Those moments are meant to push and thrust you forward.

Let go of the “I couldn’t” thoughts and practice the “Of course I can. YES, I can do that and more.” God only gives us what we can handle, and he has shown us that we can’t handle the full vision and power of who we truly are all at once. Therefore, he shows us these things little by little.

You’ve only seen bits of what you are capable of. When you stretch your possibilities there is a whole other reality waiting for you.

The possibilities are literally endless for who you are and what you can become.

Start dreaming, start letting go of those negative constructs and start to allow yourself to dream about reaching those goals. Give yourself permission to envision having it all.

Sending big love!
